A Bed For Every Child

A Bed for Every Child is now in its 7th year and continues to have a simple mission that has a huge impact on a child’s life growing up in poverty: give that child a bed of his own.

There are five things that a child needs to thrive: food, water, shelter, clothing, and sleep. As a society, we have worked tirelessly to ensure children have access to the first four; but, in regards to sleep, we have yet to reach the same level. Although a bed is not the first thing we think of when discussing poverty, far too many children are growing up in a household that simply cannot afford beds for their children. Therefore these children are not able to obtain the good night’s sleep they need to get the education they deserve.

Responding to this need, St. Adelaide's Confirmation Class will host a “Build A Bed Project Day” on Saturday, March 28, 2020.

Here’s what we need to do:  RAISE MONEY!

Each bed costs $250.00. For every $250 raised, a team will work together for a 2-3 hour period building a twin bed frame. The donation also makes it possible for each child to receive a new mattress and bedding.  Students are encouraged to collect from family and friends. In addition, students will collect money at ALL Weekend Masses through March 21/22. Volunteer sign-up sheets are available in the church.
