Organist / Choirmaster

Michael Olbash serves as the Organist & Choirmaster of St. Adelaide's Parish, directing our Parish Choir, Choristers, Polyphony Choir, and Gregorian Chant scholae, at both Ordinary and Extraordinary Form Masses.  In addition to his duties at St. Adelaide's, he serves as Master of the Sacred Music Guild at Thomas More College in Merrimack, NH, Director of Music at Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary in Weston, MA, and directs the upper school chorus at the Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Still River, MA.  Nationally recognized for his advocacy for sacred music education, he is the founder of the Boston Chapter of Choristers Guild, for which he served as president for eight years, and has served on the Board of Directors of the American Federation of Pueri Cantores.  An active member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO), he holds the Choirmaster and Colleague certificates from the AGO, has lectured at both regional and national conventions, and is the recipient of both the Choirmaster Prize and the S. Lewis Elmer Award.  He holds an undergraduate degree in music from Harvard University and the Master of Music degree in sacred music and liturgy from St. Joseph’s College of Indiana.
