The Extraordinary Form (Traditional Latin Mass)

The Extraordinary Form, also known as the "Traditional Latin Mass," is celebrated every Sunday at St. Adelaide’s.  The first Traditional Latin Mass at St. Adelaide’s was offered on the Feast of SS. Peter and Paul on June 29, 2008.  Since then, the Traditional Latin Mass community at St. Adelaide’s has been thriving, with a full rota of servers and talented scholae who assist the congregation in singing the Mass.  From September to June, the Missa Cantata (High Mass) is offered at 1:00 p.m.  During the summer months, the Mass is offered at 12:00 Noon.  In addition, there are always opportunities to attend Mass in the Extraordinary Form on Holy Days and major feasts.  For a complete schedule of High Mass from July 2018 through June 2019, including a complete list of propers, ordinaries, motets, hymns, and organ voluntaries for each Mass, please click here.

All of the Sacraments are offered in the Extraordinary Form for those who seek them. Baptism, Matrimony, Extreme Unction (Last Rites) and Requiem Masses are all offered in the Extraordinary Form. If you wish to have a Sacrament celebrated in the Extraordinary Form, please speak with one of the parish priests or call the parish office at 978-535-1985.
We always welcome servers, schola members, ushers and greeters, and coffee hour volunteers. Please introduce yourself and share your gifts. We welcome all who wish to enter more deeply into the celebration of the Mass in the Extraordinary Form.
